Sanbor says he is not coward

SHILLONG: Former NCP president Sanbor Shullai said that he is not a coward as alleged by the new party president Saleng Sangma.
Sangma had said on Saturday that Shullai had left NCP instead of leading the party as he was a coward.
However, in a statement issued on Sunday, the Monitoring Cum Implementation Committee (MCIC), South Shillong Constituency, released a statement saying, “Sanbor Shullai, Chairman of the committee is not a coward but he is a brave social and political leader who won district council elections for five consecutive terms and Assembly elections for two consecutive terms which proves that he gained the love, respect and support from the people of his constituency and the public at large”.
According to the committee, Shullai along with his friends, mentors and supporters took a brave decision to join BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the overall development of people.
The MCIC said that Shullai in collaboration with Hubert Marbaniang, president of BJP South Shillong Mandal and others kick started the election campaign by organising various meetings at booth level units.
The committee also claimed that as many as 8,000 residents became members of BJP and the process of enrolling is still ongoing.
