Syiem kin attackers confess to crime

SHILLONG: The assailants of Kynpham N Syiem, the elder brother of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Chief Executive Member (CEM), P N Syiem, who had surrendered before the police on Friday admitted to their crime.
The East Khasi Hills SP, Davis Marak said that the police are interrogating Pusterwell Disiar and Kyllang Thongni who stabbed Kynpham on January 17 at Dangar.
A police source said that the duo had admitted that they attacked Kynpham.
It was reported that the attack was out of personal enmity and not due to political rivalry.
Disiar and Thongni will be in police custody for three days.
A case has been registered and the accused were booked under Section 307 of IPC (attempt to murder), Section 326 of IPC (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), Section 34 IPC (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
