E-waybill
The Commissioner of Taxes, Meghalaya, has directed all persons causing inter-state and intra-state movement of Goods (with the exception of goods listed in the annexure appended to Rule 138 (14) of the Meghalaya Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017) of consignment value exceeding Rs. 50,000/- with effect from February 1, 2018 to generate the E-waybill from www.e waybillgst.gov.in. Non compliance will invite penal action.

Illicit liquor drive
Eighteen persons were arrested under the Excise Act when excise staffs of East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts. During the month of December, 2017, the staffs detected 22 cases with a seizure of 112.600 litres of i/d liquor and 12.590 litres IMFL.
