Subhas Ghai says Assam 2.0 will attract industry

GUWAHATI:  Praising the Assam government’s vision for ‘transforming’ the state, ace film maker Subhash Ghai on Friday emphasised on turning the state fast into  ‘technically high Assam 2.0’ to attract investment from the industry. 
Talking to reporters after arriving here on his maiden trip to the state, Ghai said, “Assam has the potential and strong will to welcome industry. The present government doesn’t want to only ‘develop’, but ‘transform’ the state.” 
“When Assam chief minister came to meet our film industry at Mumbai, he came across an inspiring man, a man with a vision,” he said. The filmmakers is in the city for attending the two-day global investment summit here.
Ghai said he placed before the chief minister the need to transform Assam into a technically efficient state. 
He said, “For transforming Assam into its new 2.0 version, it must be made into a technically high state and then industry and investment will follow. It will need a long term approach.” 
Ghai, who runs one of the top 10 global film training institute ‘Whistling Woods International’, said he could offer his expertise in training in creative arts to Assam.
He said, “We could have an academic presence here but details need to be worked out.”
