SHILLONG: Home Minister, HDR Lyngdoh who is seeking re-election from Sohiong constituency   has expressed confidence that the Congress will come back to power with absolute majority even as he made it clear that he did not aspire to be the Chief Minister of the state.

Speaking to media persons after filing his nominations, HDR Lyngdoh who is set to have a straight fight with HSPDP in Sohiong said, “Without an iota of doubt, Congress will come back to power with absolute majority.”

“My people are with me and they will vote for me and make me win the elections,” he said

When asked, if it would be a tough fight for him, he said, “There is always a fight in elections and you have to perform better like a football team and whichever team performs better will win the match.” He also said that his agenda was to win the confidence of the people.

Meanwhile, he also maintained that he was not aspiring to be the Chief Minister and the matter depended on the party, adding he will work for the party in whichever position he is put by the party.
