“Let the Wind Blow everywhere” puts BJP in eye of a storm

SHILLONG: Accusing the state BJP of copyright infringement for incorporating a portion of his video in the state BJP election video, an advocate from Umkiang village, East Jaintia Hills, Kynjaimon Amse called upon the BJP to remove the portion of his video within one week failing which legal action will be pursued. 

In a statement issued here, Amse stated that the state BJP incorporated and used his video without his consent and information which was uploaded on YouTube and Facebook by him that highlighted the deplorable and bad condition of the road in Huroi village in East Jaintia Hills District and added that the video is protected under the Copyright Act 1957.

Condemning the act of the BJP as illegal and an infringement of his rights as by law established, Amse said, “I strongly condemn this illegal act of the BJP Meghalaya State Unit and I call upon the BJP to remove the portion of my video within 1 week failing which legal action will be pursued.”

“My lawyer has already drafted a legal notice on this matter and will be sent soon,” he added.

Asserting that it was used for their own political gain, he informed that state BJP recently released its Election Video song for the Assembly Election 2018 sang and performed by Lou Majaw and others titled Let the Wind Blow everywhere”. 

He stated that it was a regretful act for the state BJP to use the portion of his video which can be found at 1:38 minute in the video made and circulated by the BJP.

Amse stated that the BJP has shared the video in all social media platform and other mediums of communications.
