SHILLONG: Former MDC of erstwhile Hills People Union (HPU) political party from War West constituency, Sevenson Dhar has decided to support UDP candidate from Amlarem, Lahkmen Rymbui in the Assembly polls.

In a statement issued here, Dhar maintained that his decision was based on the expectation that Rymbui will bring a change in the Amlarem constituency in the areas of education, administration, development, trade, agriculture, water supply etc.

“More importantly, it is to raise and discuss issues/difficulties of the constituency and the state in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly,” he added.

Dhar stated that he had bagged 99 per cent vote from Padu Polling station in the year 1994. He was also the former president of UDP War Jaintia constituency.
