“I, on behalf of the Conglomeration of Churches, NGOs and Senior Citizen Peace Committee, Tura, appeal to all the churches and citizen in Garo Hills to uphold in prayer the bereaved families and also pray that such evil crimes will not overshadow our society. I will also appeal to the state law and order authority to take strong action against the culprits who have committed such a heinous crime,” the statement issued by the church leader read.
The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA) also strongly condemned the incident and urged the government to take strong action against the perpetrators of the crime.
