NONGSTOIN: A campaign was held on Friday at Riangdo market under Mawshynrut constituency on Friday where eight candidates of different political parties participated among others in their attempt to gain more votes.
The first person to speak in the meeting was HSPDP candidate Witting Mawsor, who said he follows the same principles led by leaders of the HSPDP party before him.
PDF candidate Morning Mawsor mocked Ardent Basaiawmoit on his allegations that the PDF has been bribed for Rs 133 crore, but according to Morning, the PDF was not bribed and the party stands on the foundations of the tribe itself.
Independent candidate H.L.Nongsiang, who was a former leader of the NPP, said that he decided to participate in the election because he has a responsibility towards the people
The Congress candidate Justin G Momin could not attend the function but the Shillong MP Vincent Pala was present.

The UDP candidate criticised the leaders of the constituency including the sitting MLA who did not do anything for the people
He added that the duty of the MLA is not to give schemes but to make laws so that the future generations can live in peace.
NPP’s Gigur Marthong said none of the MLAs from Mawshynrut lived up to the expectations of the people.
