JOWAI: The Election Department has announced repolling at Kyndong Tuber S-‘A’ booth in West Jaintia Hills on Thursday.
Polling in the booth was cancelled on Tuesday due to malfunctioning of the electronic voting machine.
The repolling will be held under tight security as the district magistrate has promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC at Kyndong Tuber S-‘A’ to maintain peace and following reports from the district SP that a public meeting was being held at Kyndong Tuber for issuing a diktat to voters.
The district magistrate has also prohibited sale of liquor, use of loud speakers and mega phones, carrying of arms and gathering of more than five persons beyond 100 meters from the polling station.
