SHILLONG: The NPP-BJP and UDP-HSPDP, who were at daggers drawn till the poll results, have buried the hatchet to form the new government.
UDP and HSPDP, who had earlier accused the BJP of imposing ‘one language, one religion and one law’ in the country, erased their old memories and are on the same ship with the Lotus now.
Similarly, BJP and NPP have always maintained that they were separate entities and have no connection with each other. owever, all the charges and accusations against each other now have been put under the blanket, and all these political parties are under one banner to form a new government.
On the other hand, the Congress which failed to form the government in Meghalaya was continuously accusing NPP of being a team B of BJP.
Meanwhile, the state NCP unit is awaiting a response from its central leadership on whether the party should support the NPP-BJP-led government or stay in the opposition with the Congress.
NCP working president Vijay Raj said they are waiting for the official word from the party headquarters in Delhi.
It may be mentioned that NCP has been a close ally of the Congress at the national level.
On the other hand, independent MLA from Nongkrem Lambor Malngiang said he is having meetings with his supporters to decide as to whom he should support now.
