SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has denied the media reports that he had put pressure on BJP and other political parties to pave his way for becoming the chief minister.
In response to media reports, Sangma said that he never used any pressure tactics to be elected as the chief minister.
“Every individual party has its own mind and ideology and why would anybody listen to me and I cannot even pressure my own MLAs,” Sangma told reporters. Sangma also said that the new government is very much NPP led and not a BJP led government and asserted that BJP is a partner of the Government with two members.
“All members of the alliance are equal and the voice of all of them will be heard,” he said.
Sangma also said that the partners of the alliance will collectively decide the policies for the benefit of the people of the state.
