Health mela held at Marngar

NONGPOH: With an aim to reach the general public in term of better healthcare service, the department of the District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO), in collaboration with Marngar Public Health Centre (PHC) on Wednesday held as awareness programme as part of the Health Mela at Marngar, Ri-Bhoi district.

 

The programme was attended by the local legislator of Nongpoh Constituency Mayral Born Syiem as the chief guest in the presence of Dr. B. Pohchen, DM&HO, Ri Bhoi District, Marngar PHC in-charge Dr J Syiem, Paiem of the Raid Marngar Paiem, Richard Syiem among others.

 

Addressing the gathering, Mayralborn Syiem lauded the effort of the office of the DM&HO for organizing such an important programme to promote the health sector and for sensitising the general public on various governmental scheme for which they can be benefitted on health sector.

 

Syiem, as the local legislator, also expressed his concern over the day-to-day affair, where people ignored the need to come to the health centre for treating their sickness or to avail the benefits of government schemes entitled to them.

 

The programme was marked by a skit performed by ASHA workers who also sensitised about the role of the family in regard with maternity issues.
