SHILLONG: The family of   Pooja Prasad, who allegedly committed suicide in Pynthorumkhrah in a suspected case of dowry-related death has urged the police to raise objection against granting anticipatory bail to Joginer Prasad Sah and Madhuri Prasad Sah, the in-laws of Pooja Prasad

In a petition submitted to the Officer in Charge of Sadar Police Station here, the complainant, Usha Sah once again alleged that her nephew Pooja Prasad was killed and her in-laws were named in the in the FIR which had been filed earlier.

She, however, said that two accused Joginer Prasad Sah and Madhuri Prasad Sah filed an application for anticipatory bail and they were successful in obtaining an interim order of bail for eight days.

Usha Sah also lamented that no objection was raised by additional public prosecutor against granting interim anticipatory bail to the two accused persons.

Sah said that if the two accused are set free, they would tamper the evidence and hamper the investigation intimidating the witnesses.

It may be mentioned that the husband of the deceased, Ravi Shankar Prasad has been arrested by the police

Meanwhile, the residents of Pynthorumkhrah also organised a candle light rally in the area on Sunday to condemn the incident.
