GUWAHATI: Assam police on Monday arrested three teachers for a private school in Goalpara town of Western Assam on charges of attempt to rape a girl student in the washroom of the institution.
Police informed that three accused teachers – prime accused yoga teacher Humayun Kabir, managing director and principal of the institution Najmul Haque and headmaster Khanindra Kumar Das of Goalpara Science Academy were remanded to police custody on production in the local court today.
While the prime accused Humayun Kabir was remanded to seven days’ police custody the rest two accused were given two days’ police remand each by the court.
