Youth festival held in Chokpot

TURA: A youth festival was recently organised by the District Health Society of South Garo Hills at St Thomas Secondary School under Chokpot CHC in which Additional Deputy Commissioner cum Sub Divisional Officer, Z J Sangma was the chief guest.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr Lily Sengme Ch Marak, other officials were also present in the programme.
A health rally was also organised in which health related posters and placards were displayed. Adolescents and youths were encouraged to take care of their health as well as career. One of the main issues highlighted by peer educators during the programme was teenage pregnancy and its effects.
The youth festival was marked by quiz, extempore speech competitions and games where students from different schools actively participated.
