SHILLONG: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has urged his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma to look into the problems faced by Manipuri settlers in the state.
“Many Manipuris residing in Meghalaya have not been reportedly receiving benefits from government schemes,” Singh informed Conrad on Saturday.
He also complained that many Manipuris in Meghalaya had not been issued Aadhaar cards and land records. Singh also sought co-operation from Sangma regarding development of the Manipur Bhavan in Shillong.
Meanwhile, Sangma called on Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla on Saturday.  It was a courtesy call wherein the chief minister invited the governor to Meghalaya and sought her advice and guidance on promotion of tourism, entrepreneurship and empowerment of women. The governor fondly recalled her association with late Purno Agitok Sangma.
Besides, Sangma discussed common issues and agendas with Singh to take the North East forward.
