National Lok Adalat
The Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, West Garo Hills, Tura informed that as per the revised schedule, the National Lok Adalat will now be held on April 21 from 10am onwards in the premises of District & Sessions Court, Tura and all concerned are requested to attend the same for settlement, disposal of their cases.

Rice released
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Garo Hills, Tura informed that PHH and AAY Rice has been released for the beneficiaries for the month of April respectively in respect of Tura urban and rural based Fair Price Shop dealers.

Meeting
The MUPSTA State Level held its Central Executive Committee (CEC) on April 7. The meeting was presided by the president, K Shadap.They discussed pending issues regarding ways to strengthen the organisation in the whole state of Meghalaya. Further, it unanimously decided to hold the State Conference at Tura, West Garo Hills by the month of June or July. This will be its first State Conference to be conducted in Garo Hills.

Office bearers
The biennial general body meeting of Geetali, Laban, a premier socio-cultural organisation was held on April 8 at the club premises. The General Body unanimously elected office bearers for the period of 2018-2020. The president is SN Das, vice-president CA Sudip Pukayastha, general secretary Ganapada Ghosh among others.

Condolence Condolence A condolence meeting was held to condole the death of E N Rammohan, IPS (Retd) at the Police Headquarters, Shillong on Tuesday. It was attended by senior police officers of Meghalaya Police. Rammohan who retired 17 years ago breathed his last on April 8. He was one of the most illustrious members of the Indian Police Service and Assam-Meghalaya Cadre.  He served two tenures as Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills.
