TURA: The All A’chik Youth Federation (AAYF) in East Garo Hills has urged Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to look into the establishment of two separate infrastructural facilities in the district.
In their memo to the Chief Minister, the federation sought the setting up of the already proposed Horticulture University at Dawagre Village and a DIET Institute or Training Centre at district headquarters, Williamnagar.
“The establishment of a Horticulture University at Dawagre Village was proposed by the previous government way back in 2008. For the purpose, a total of 25.50 hectares of land was also donated to the government by the Nokma and his clan members. However, a single sign of work on the construction is yet to be seen till today,” the federation said.
Informing that the demand for creation of the DIET Institute or Training Centre was also already submitted to the earlier government on August 18, 2018, the federation urged Sangma to look into the matter for its early establishment.
