Meghalaya Sports Dept undertakes 173 infrastructure projects

SHILLONG: The Sports & Youth Affairs Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh said 173 on going infrastructure projects undertaken by the department during the last two years which are through the State Sports Council, Meghalaya.

 To a supplementary query by Congress MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh, the minister informed there were 12 engineers supervising the 173 projects. 

 He said the total strength of the Engineering Wing of the Sports Department (State Sports Council Meghalaya) are 62 regular staff and 95 casual employees.

 Replying to other queries, he said qualification of the engineers are graduate engineers as well as diploma engineers. The Sports Department also have a full-time Chief Engineer.
