SHILLONG: Congress MLA, Mahendro Rapsang raised a concern on the low enrollment of Mohan Massar Government Upper Primary School, which has only 65 students. Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui pledged to find out details  from the department on the issue raised by the MLA.

The minister said the department had plans to improve the enrollment of students in Mohan Massar Government Upper Primary School as the number of students dropped drastically.

Again, Rapsang called upon the Minister to improve the school infrastructure which is currently in a pathetic state. The school caters to underprivileged students in the areas.

Rymbui responded saying that the government did not have much resources but the Shillong Round Table- 252 had offered to build the infrastructure of the school.

Replying to a query, the Education Minister informed there were two government schools under Shillong West constituency: Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School which has 764 students and Mohan Massar Government Upper Primary School that has 65 students.
