SHILLONG:  NCP MLA, Saleng A Sangma and independent MLA, Lambor Malngiang   have come together to form the Meghalaya United Front (MUF).

Lambor Malngiang on Tuesday said that the Front had been formed to strengthen the position of the State Government since the state in the past had suffered from political instability that harmed the state in many ways.

“We thought let us work together and we have no political agenda in this Front but to strengthen the Government,” he said

It may be mentioned that both Sangma and Malngiang have extended support to the NPP-led MDA Government in the state.

When asked if they would invite other independent MLAs to be a part of the Front, Malngiang said that their doors were always open for anyone who wanted to support the Front.

It may be mentioned that the MDA Government is currently being supported by United Democratic Party (UDP), People’s Democratic Front (PDF), Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), BJP, NCP and Independents.
