SHILLONG: Ailing Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Friday Lyngdoh has written to the AICC to relieve him from his responsibility as the president of the party in the State.
In his letter to the AICC, Lyngdoh had stated his inability to continue to hold the post due to his ill health, party sources informed on Wednesday.
The MPCC president had also suggested the AICC to appoint present MPCC working president Deborah Marak, the sources added.
Marak has been officiating as the president of MPCC since December last after Lyngdoh had gone to CMC, Vellore for his treatment.
Meanwhile, the sources also revealed that Lyngdoh has also written to Assembly Speaker Charles Pyngrope to relieve him from the post of Assembly Committee Chairman which has been shouldered with the responsibility of studying the Meghalaya Community Participation Bill, 2010.
Sources informed that Lyngdoh has suggested the name of Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh for appointment as the Chairman.
