Assam governor put in charge of Manipur temporarily

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has been assigned by the President of India to discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur during the absence on leave of Dr. Najma A. Heptulla with effect from today, a Raj Bhavan communique informed.

The President of India by articles 155 and 160 of the Constitution of India, appoint Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam to discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office, during the absence on leave of Dr. Najma A. Heptulla.
