After MPSC, fake police recruitment ad goes viral

SHILLONG: Just days after fake results of an MPSC examination was uploaded on social media, the Police Department has become the latest target with a fake advertisement being posted online.
The Inspector General of Police, (TAP), Cum-Chairman (CRB), H. Nongpluh, on Friday informed that the Central Recruitment Board has learnt of a fake advertisement of posts in Meghalaya Police being circulated in social media and internet.
“The Central Recruitment Board of Police Department hereby clarifies that no advertisement has been issued by the Board. An FIR has been filed by the Member Secretary, Central Recruitment Board for investigation and necessary action against the unknown persons who circulated the fake advertisement”, Nongpluh said in a statement.
According to Nongpluh, all advertisements and notices issued by the Central Recruitment Board will be available in the official website of Meghalaya Police.
The public has been asked not to respond to any such fake advertisements which are not available on the official website of Meghalaya Police (www.megpolice.gov.in).
