SHILLONG: The central body of the FKJGP central body will hold a peaceful sit-in demonstration at the monument of Kiang Nongbah on Thursday to register their protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.

In a statement issued here, the general secretary of FKJGP, Dundee C. Khongsit said the Bill will pave the way for illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan to be recognized as citizens of India.

According to the organization, danger awaits the minority communities here in the state with the influx of illegal immigrants that poses potential threat to business ventures by the indigenous communities.
