SHILLONG: Police in their continued search on Sunday recovered several arms and ammunition, including Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG) belonging to GNLA from Bawegre village in East Garo Hills.
The search was carried out with the help of villagers in the afternoon.
The recovered items include four RPG rockets, one 7.62 LMG, two 7.62 LMG barrels, one .303 LMG barrel, one G3 rifle, 90 rounds of rifle ammunition and four charger clips.
A police official said the series of recovery of weapons reveal the magnitude of the fire power of the militant outfit.
According to the official, the firepower had given strength to slain GNLA leader Sohan Shira and his cadres to take on the security forces.
