SHILLONG: With an aim to instill the spirit of patriotism in the youth, Swabhimaan desh ka, a non-governmental organization under the leadership of Surender Singh Bidhuri undertook a three-month-long yatra or march titled Shaheed Swabhimaan Yatra which will cover 29 states.

The yatra has already covered 15 of the 29 states with a distance of over 13,500 km and travelled 56 days. The NGO is also collecting soil from all states of India in their journey.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Bidhuri said the yatra began on March 23. “The yatra is aimed with a purpose to give respect to martyrs of India. We also demand from the state government to give Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh the title of son of the nation,” he said.

The NGO also plans to establish a 100 feet largest statue of Bhagat Singh along the Delhi-Punjab road for which soils from all over the states will be scattered all around the statue.
