Theft
Police arrested two persons, Tiburson Basaringaid (23) and Sharkin Kharkylliang in connection with robbery and criminal intimidation.
Electrocuted
On May 17 around 1.30 pm, John A Thabah (23) was electrocuted in a jungle at Lumbyrhing village (Ri Bhoi). Necessary formalities have been observed.
Drug addict arrested
B Kharmujai, Headman of Mawlai Mawdatbaki lodged a complaint that on May 17 around 5.30 am, he was informed by Benardis Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi of Mawlai Mawdatbaki Pata that her son Fortune Lyngdoh (20) is in the habit of taking intoxicant substances. In this connection, the locality elders conducted a search in her residence and found one small container containing 0.37 grams of suspected drugs. Later, they handed Fortune to the police who arrested him.
One killed in accident
On May 7 circa 5 am, a truck (AS-01-DC-1885) driven by Sorhab Ali plunged into a deep gorge at Rongkandi (SGH). As a result, co-driver of the truck viz., Mofibur Islam died on the spot. Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver was sent to Civil Hospital, Williamnagar for post mortem examination.
