Shillong: The KSU’s Lyngdoh Maram Unit held a meeting with the village headmen of Madan Bynther, Lyngdoh Maram and the Bynther Area Taxi Association at Bynther Secondary School on Friday to discuss problems faced by the people relating to the taxi fares.

In the meeting, the issue of increasing of the taxi fare from Rs 10 to Rs 15 was discussed wherein the Dorbar Shnong of Madan Bynther decided to keep fare at the earlier rate.

The Dorbar Shnong met the SDO Mairang Civil Sub Division along with the president of Bynther Area Taxi Association wherein they agreed to leave the fares as it was before (Rs 10) and an agreement was signed. But the association later violated the agreement.

The KSU’s Lyngdoh Maram unit condemned the violation of the agreement by the taxi association and in the said meeting, the KSU asked the association to fix the matter failing of which they along with the two Dorbar Shnong– Madan Bynther and Lyngdoh Maram – would take tough measures.
