Assam youth abducted, killed by NSCN-IM rebels

GUWAHATI:  Rebels from the NSCN-IM abducted and killed a youth hailing from Joypur area in Tinsukia district of Assam bordering Arunachal Pradesh after failing to extract ransom of Rs 10 lakh from his father.

Police informed that the killed youth was identified as Rafel Ali who along with his father Moon Ali was abducted by NSCN-IM rebels from Deomali area in neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh. Moon Ali was later let off by the rebel after severe beating only to gather Rs 10 lakh as ransom for release of his son.

However, the youth was killed by the rebels after his father failed to pay up the ransom amount demanded by the rebels.
