SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong will work together with police to ensure peace in the city and security of all citizens.
SP (City) Stephan A Rynjah told reporters on Thursday that the city was getting back to normal. He added that over 100 police personnel were injured, some seriously, during the clashes with protesters as police exercised maximum restraint.
Asked about the agitators, Rynjah said majority of the agitators were reeking of alcohol when arrested. Around 40 persons were detained and released but around 10-15 persons were arrested for trying to hurt police personnel on duty and destroy public property.
