2 State women writers awarded

Shillong: Two women writers from Meghalaya were conferred the All India Poetess Conference (AIPC) Special Award at the 12th national convention of the AIPC held at Hubli, Karnataka.

Professor Streamlet Dkhar, member of the Sahitya Akademi and also professor at the Department of Khasi in NEHU and noted Khasi writer Minimon Laloo were awarded for their contribution to Khasi poetry and literature.

Others, who attended the convention were Khasi composer Silbi Passah and Alfidarie Kharsyntiew.

Attired in Khasi costumes, they also performed the Shad Shoh Kba (Harvest Dance) arranged by Ms Passah.(UNI)
