SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Institute of Governance (MIG) won the Skoch Award Gold and the Skoch Order of Merit Gold at the 52nd SKOCH State of Governance Summit held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi on Friday.

The state of outcomes conference was inaugurated by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, in the presence of Archana Chitnis, Minister for Women and Child Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh and other luminaries.

The catch phrase of the 3-day summit which started on the June 21, 2018 was “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance” which had fired the imagination of the Indian people in the last general elections.

The summit has scheduled conferences on State of Emerging India, State of Outcomes and State of the Nation which will delve into the key governance and development promises and outcomes of the government at the centre and the states.

An important aspect of good governance is the simplification of procedures and processes in the government so as to make the entire system transparent, faster and efficient. Aiban Swer OSD, I Dohling and B Shylla represented MIG at the Summit.
