SHILLONG: The High Level Committee (HLC) may meet this week to discuss the report of the survey carried out by the Directorate of Land Records and Survey.
The Syiem of Mylliem, Shillong Municipal Board and Directorate of Land Records and Survey had jointly completed the two-day survey at the Sweepers’ Colony (Them Iew Mawlong) on Thursday.
An official source said the functionaries of Syiem of Mylliem, Shillong Municipal Board and Directorate of Land Records will meet first and their findings will be submitted to the HLC.
Them Iew Mawlong is spread over 33,000 sq ft and the survey will help to know the exact area under the jurisdiction of the Hima Mylliem and the Shillong Municipal Board.
When contacted on Sunday, HLC chairman and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong said the committee may meet this week to discuss the report of the survey.
Tynsong had said last week that the committee was looking at a permanent solution acceptable to all the stake holders.
He had also hinted that there will be several rounds of discussions before any decision is arrived at.
