MAWKYRWAT: The UDP Ranikor circle is confident that this time the party candidate will win the by-election in Ranikor constituency.
The party has asked its members, leaders and other political parties in Ranikor to support the UDP in its fight against former Congress MLA and NPP candidate, M.M Danggo.
UDP Ranikor circle president, G G Bung Snaitang said, “The resignation of the MLA is a blessing and a good opportunity for the party to win the by-poll in Ranikor since Danggo cannot take all his Congress supporters to the NPP. I know that even the Congress wants to defeat Danggo and as a party that came second in the last Assembly elections, we are ready for the by-election”.
Snaitang said that the UDP Ranikor circle in a meeting held last Thursday has decided to prepare for the by-election by organising all the primary units once again so that they can achieve the goal.
The meeting was also of the opinion that the UDP candidate Pius Marwein, who had contested against Danggo in the past Assembly polls, will again join the fray.
“A crucial point the meeting decided was to again appeal to all the leaders from Ranikor constituency who are not supporting Danggo to come and join the UDP and support Marwein,” Snaitang said, adding that if all the leaders from Ranikor constituency stand behind Marwein, the UDP will win the seat.
“Soon we will approach all the leaders of different political parties
including the PDF, BJP, former NPP members led by Don Massar and even the leaders of the Congress who do not follow Danggo including Khrang Lyngkhoi, JC Diengngan, PK Nongmin and others,” Snaitang said.
