Govt hikes ex-gratia for security personnel

SHILLONG: The State Cabinet on Saturday hiked the ex-gratia provided to the next of kin of armed police personnel killed in the line of duty.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma informed that the ex-gratia has been enhanced to Rs 7.5 lakh from the existing Rs 5 lakh, adding the compensation to the injured police personnel in militant-related operations has also been hiked from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
