50-year-old Smit HS School dogged by poor infrastructure

SHILLONG: The Smit Higher Secondary School which celebrated its 50 years of existence recently, is plagued by  poor infrastructure of the school building as chunks of plastered cement has fell off from the walls.

An irked MLA from Nongkrem, Lambor Malniang has threatened to summon the officers of PWD department as well as the Education department to seek an explanation on the careless construction work.

Malniang said the shoddy construction work proved to be dangerous for the school children and said he would direct the Education department as well as the PWD (Buildings) to repair the building.
