Main accused in Rishan Rapsang attack identified

SHILLONG: The main accused in the attack of Rishan Rapsang has been indentified as Vijay Sahani who was handed over to the police by the friends and relatives of   Rishan on Wednesday.

SP (City) Steven Rynjah said that the he was the one who had hit Rishan Rapsang on the day of incident and later fled away with the bag containing cash.

Police on Thursday arrested another person, believed to be an accomplice and he has been identified as Kunal Sunar

“We are searching for one or two more people,” Rynjah said, adding that the police are still talking to suspects who were brought to police station for questioning but they have not been detained.

An amount of Rs 3, 800, 500 was recovered from the main accused while only Rs 8000 was recovered from his accomplice  and it is suspected that  the rest of the money is with other accused persons who are yet to be arrested.

It may be recalled that Rishan Rapsang was badly injured after he was hit by an iron rod on his head at the premises of his mother’s residence at Jaiaw Langsning on June 25 and amount of Rs 9 lakhs was stolen from him.
