Noted industrialist JN Bawri no more

SHILLONG: Noted city-based industrialist JN Bawri breathed his last at his Oxford Hill residence at around 10 pm on Wednesday. He was 92.

A noted philanthropist, Bawri was associated with various social and political organisations in his life time. He also had close association with Subash Chandra Bose during the latter’s visit to Shillong. He was also a recipient of several national awards like the National Citizens’ Award, Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award, Indira Gandhi Solidarity Award, International Business Excellency Award, Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna Award and the Outstanding Citizen Award.
