SHILLONG: A resident of Phulbari, West Garo Hills killed the father of his son-in-law on Thursday, a delayed report said.
According to police, the accused identified as Ajarul Sarkar (36) committed the crime after his daughter eloped with the son of the victim identified as Aju Ali (60) from Chibinang.
After the accused hit the victim with a hammer, he succumbed to his injuries.
Later, the accused carried the victim to Phulbari CHC and surrendered before the police.
Police recovered the weapon used for the crime.
