Panel discusses future of media

SHILLONG: The Media Club, an extension unit of the Department of Mass Media at St Anthony’s College, in collaboration with Crystal India foundation organised an interactive session on the topic ‘Intellectual Property Rights and the Future of Media and Journalism in India’ on Saturday.
V .N. Sehgal, former CBI director (Forensic) was the key speaker of the session. It may be mentioned that Sehgal has over 200 scientific publications to his credit and has worked extensively on different fields of forensic science including bank frauds, signature forgeries and document frauds.
He shared his experiences of crimes, investigations and role of journalists.
Gyan Prakash, a senior journalist and the national president of the Indian Journalist Compendium also highlighted the future of journalism and media in India.
He encouraged students towards political stories and talked about nuances of political reporting citing examples from several years of reporting Parliament sessions.
