New Delhi: Former Bangladesh president Hussain Muhammad Ershad met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and is believed to have discussed with him the political situation in his country where general election is due later this year, sources said.
During the 30-minute-long meeting on Sunday, Ershad, who is the chairman of Bangladesh’s ‘Jatiya Party’, is said to have apprised the home minister about the prevailing situation in Bangladesh and its preparation for the national polls. A Home Ministry official described the meeting as a “courtesy call”. The meeting took place just a week after Singh’s visit to Bangladesh where he met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed and other top leaders. (PTI)
