Woman delivers baby in ambulance

SHILLONG: A 30-year-old woman delivered a baby in an ambulance in Mawsynram, East Khasi Hills on Sunday.
The Mawsynram CHC referred the woman identified as Bawanti Kharnaior to the higher health centre, with the complaint of foetal distress and Meconium stain. However, on reaching Tyrsad market the patient went into labor and the EMT on duty Rumsan Mikel Khongtiang conducted the delivery in the ambulance and a healthy baby girl was born. Both mother and child are fine and they were shifted to Mawphlang CHC.
