SHILLONG: A person from Assam who travels on the Guwahat- Shillong road every day was allegedly kidnapped by some people and later assaulted
Police said that as per the statement of the victim, the abductors tried to drug him near Shangbangla near Nongpoh but he was able to fight with them and jumped from the vehicle.
Later, police rescued him and apprehended three persons in this connection.
Police said investigation was on into the matter.
However, police said that the victim had changed his statement and hence police was awaiting for more details before arriving at a conclusion over the matter.
The victim who hails from Basistha, Guwahati has been identified as one Vimal Kalita and works in Central Ground Water Board in Shillong.
