Andhra fishery official meets govt

SHILLONG: With the ban on the import of fishes from Andhra Pradesh due to the use of formalin, the Commissioner of Fisheries of Andhra Pradesh, Rama Sankar Naik, met Additional Chief Secretary PW Ingty on Thursday.
An official said the Andhra Pradesh official wanted an early lifting of the ban on imported fishes.
According to the Andhra Pradesh commissioner of fisheries, no formalin is used when the fishes are exported to the North East.
However, the Meghalaya official asked him to write a letter to the chief secretary to examine the matter.
