AGARTALA: Trouble brewed on the Indo-Bangladesh border in west Tripura after the Bangladesh Border Guards (BGB) killed a villager and took hostage four Tripura farmers who went to cultivate a piece of land outside the wire fence on Friday.

In retaliation to the killing, angry villagers in Tripura’s western border along Sonamura sub-division detained a BGB jawan who allegedly led the team that killed Saha Alam(40) early Friday morning.

Within an hour of the detention, BGB personnel took hostage four Tripura farmers who went to cultivate outside the wire fence. (UNI)
