Militants attack refugee department in Afghanistan

Kabul: An explosion on Tuesday rocked the department of refugees and migrants in the Afghan city of Jalalabad. Initial information shows a blast took place near the Provincial Directorate of Refugees and Repatriation followed by gunshots in Jalalabad city’s Police District 3, a provincial government spokesman told Efe news. It was a terrorist attack and security forces evacuated the director of the refugee department and many other employees.
He said that there was no information yet regarding casualties, the spokesman added. The attack was carried out when a meeting was under way at the directorate between officials from the institution &partner and donor organisations. (IANS)
