Awareness programme to boost SC, ST entrepreneurship held in Williamnagar

TURA: In an attempt to boost the promotion of SC and ST entrepreneurs in the district, a one day awareness programme was organized under the National SC/ST Hub Scheme by District Commerce and Industries Centre at Williamnagar in East Garo Hills.

Speaking on the occasion, local MLA, Marcuise N Marak who was the Chief Guest on the occasion motivated the participants to take up entrepreneurship and become successful in their life. He urged the participants and especially the youth to take active part in the scheme and create job opportunities to solve the rising problem of unemployment. He informed the participants that Government of India has launched many schemes for employment of people and this is one such scheme where entrepreneurs should reap the benefits.

Earlier, MDC Williamnagar Constituency and GHADC Chairman, Denang T Sangma urged the participants to be attentive in the programme and take up micro enterprises as a means of livelihood.

The programme was chaired by General Manager of DCIC, M R Marak who spoke at length about entrepreneurship and various opportunities the department provides for the people. The programme also witnessed interactive sessions which were presented by different officials of DCIC.
