SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya wanted to know whether the government is going to give pension, house rent, medical allowances, arrears and other benefits to the deficit school teachers as per the recommendation of the 5th pay panel.
The matter came for hearing on Thursday but could not be taken up as senior counsel for the petitioner, Greater Phulbari Area Deficit School, remained absent.
However, the government advocate was directed to come up with a clear cut affidavit as to whether they are going to give pension to the deficit school teachers, including house rent, medical allowances, arrears and others as per the fifth pay panel recommendation within three weeks.
The matter will come up for hearing after three weeks for further order.
Tainted teachers
In another case, three teachers have filed separate petitions citing grievances after they were categorised as tainted.
According to three petitioners, they do not figure in the list of tainted teachers of Dadenggre Sub Division whereas the CBI report reveals that the petitioners are tainted teachers.
The matter will come up for hearing on Monday.
